RELATIONSHIPS
From birth, we secure attachments formed through warm and respectful relationships with familiar adults are fundamental to children’s learning and development. These relationships protect, regulate and buffer children. They provide a secure base that helps children to feel safe and confident to try new things. At Balgownie Early Learning Centre we are staffed above the minimum ratios which provides opportunities for unhurried and meaningful interactions and also means that we do not need to employ casual staff. Our families and children know exactly who will be there to greet them each day.

Community engagement is important because of its impact
on children’s wellbeing and learning. For children, a sense of community plays an important role in the development of their
feelings of belonging and security. Local excursions, Participating in and contributing to community events, inviting
community members and organisations into our services all help to connect our children with their community and occurs on a regular basis.

It is such a weight off our minds every day knowing that our daughter is going somewhere that she loves and where she is absolutely loved by the people caring for her. The personal touch & sense of community is amazing, the best we’ve seen by far (out of more than 4 ELC’s). The educators really love what they do and they do it well. The most amazing team who without a doubt greet you with a big smile, make you feel welcome and most importantly look after your children as though they’re their own. Balgownie Early Learning Centre has seen our son through to his school years and we could not be happier with how much he's grown, flourished and made feel at home within the centre.
